2a. Massive loathing? How to show this, if so. (Could be 7 letters, but may not be) help please anyone out there.

The answer's 4 letters - and I can parse only the 'Massive' bit. This is an affected entry/answer, as per the preamble.

Here I am again Malone. I gave up to be honest, but now have picked up again. Is 11a Levi?

Yes, it's Levi, leader of tribe (in the Bible, I assume?). It's just I've/ive+l, left, reversed.

I am on the right track then but will have to knuckle down again tomorrow because I am still miles away from sussing the pairs as I have not discovered which 'strange' answer goes with which. Any pointer still nudgingly welcome....

It's hard to give pointers...

I got a couple of clues where I knew my answer was correct but it wouldn't fit the spaces or the letters I already had. I ignored these as long as possible. One example is 36 Across, which had a fairly simple, obvious answer. 33 A was the same.

Hi Malone, I agree that it is a fun puzzle. I have all 7 items and almost completed the grid but can't get last two normal answers 34a and 21d. Any hints gratefully received.

Just got them and have now finished - phew!
