Got it, GK, but actually there is - the Answer Bank, as you know, M. (-;
They have a function that will build a title for one's query from a database of puzzle names & dates.
That also creates a list of related threads. Very slick.

Thanks, Jazzgirl, but hardly my best work. Just born out of frustration.
Good for you for trying to enlighten the heathens. I've tried to do the same & occasionally the message gets through, but it's rare.
I don't bother with those "last one" type threads anymore, & don't get me started on the ones who post things like, "I have ?????a????".
Bravo ! Take two consonants & call me in the morning.

It is a shame.
When attempting a game.
Only to ask.
Without fronting the task.
At hand.

From the sublime to the ridiculous.......

There once was a solver named Moss,
Who for rules did not give a toss.
"Last one - I'm stuck,
And I don't give a hoot*
If my postings make all of you cross."

*If you insist on the middle lines rhyming, please insert your own expletive! ;)

Hi Kiwikid....I don't need encouraging...but !

When I get stuck,
I don't give a "hoot",
As to whom I annoy,
I will post my request,
Stuff all the rest,
I'll be proud of my effort,"Oh boy"

"Finished at last and it was all my own work!" Hmmm

Seriously though, I have no problem with people asking for help: it is only through the answers and explanations given on this forum that I have been able to figure out how cryptics work, after all. It's just that the rules/guidelines are there to make it easier for everyone, and ignoring them just leads to frustration.

I missed this entertaining thread the first time round.
Although I did pretty well at Latin O level it was a long time ago. I can cheat anyway and use google translate!
