I think I have the 14 'vertical' cells you have. The remaining five are 'horizontal' on bottom row

Oh that's disappointing! If that's the answer. One main feature of the picture is ignored.
Thanks anyway.

I'm at a loss! My grid is full, although I'm not totally sure that everything is correct, and I know the 4 unclued. But I have absolutely no idea what to do next! Any hints would be gratefully received.

Sybila, all 21 extra words needs to be modified in a particular way (made runny). The initials of the modified words spell an artwork, related to the unclued words. Then modify the unclued words in the same way.

Perhaps that wasn’t very helpful. Maybe if I say that the modifications are the same length as before and still real words, you will have a better idea of how to change them

Thank you but I had understood all that. My problem is that, because several answers are guesses, I haven't got all the words so can't get the title!

I see. Well, the 21 letters are split 1,5,2,7,6. And if you have the four unclued they should clearly signpost the final 6 letter word.

I thought this was completely brilliant! I spent a while trying to modify the initial letters of the extra words but once I worked out they were modified before taking the first letters everything fell into place. The compound interest is a wonderful touch!

Quisling. That has helped a great deal and confirmed a couple of guesses

This has been sitting on my to do pile for nearly a week. Thoroughly enjoyed the solve and can only wonder at the complexity of the construction. So many clever components and the final bits of highlighting capture the elements of the original in visual as well as verbal form. Bravo, Charybdis!
