Yes, that's my standard opening. Not "optimal" according to any analysis I've seen but I like to get all the vowels out there as soon as possible.

I’ve never understood the preference for ADIEU.

In hard mode isn’t the key to get as many different consonants out as quickly as possible to avoid having to guess between consonants later on?

Three letters on the first, then missed the fourth letter all the way down. Nothing but chance. Oh well, you can’t move up from 99%, can you? 🤓 My first wasn’t adieu.

It's stuff like this that make me glad I don't play it. 😉

I had a streak of 463 until the word Piper came up. I had that and a choice of one other and chose the wrong one. So annoying. I’m back to 26 now.

That streak of 463 is indeed impressive. My 183 came to an end today (no spoilers) but it may have been 264 if I hadn't forgotten to do it one day last September. It's an easy game but you do sometimes need luck.

Coincidentally yesterday's answer, SALLY, was the chosen word for the last Weekend Peer Review.

Yes, I couldn’t quite believe yesterday’s answer given the WPR.
I was fortunate today.

Does anyone play Quordle? I find it more satisfying than Wordle

i played both quordle and octordle for a while, but I gave them as up I basically cracked the code, and therefore never lost. Not much fun to play without any suspense.

Octordle here if you want to give 8 boards a try:
