Hi, philm,

24ac: about - re, tent is a sweet red wine like communion wine, I have = ive.

48ac: done in a band

50ac: Maine = Me, r is close to glamour, and the girl is Edith.

32dn: when you are at university, you are said to be “up”. A fair can be a market (e.g. a trade fair).

32 Upmarket, demanding higher price.

Up = at college, uni, it appears quite often in crosswords.
Market = fair, Chambers says 'market, a periodic gathering of people for the purposes of buying and selling' and 'fair - a large market...' It seems a fair(!) synonym.

Thanks, everyone! Feel some of these seem so obvious now! Never heard of tent as wine, but good to learn.

Enjoyed this. Hadn't heard of the communion wine in 24a but that was the only annoying obscurity. Can't parse this one though:

5d Suffer mental anguish in hospital visiting one (4).
I assume it's 'ache'.
