What is a five letter link word that you can add between the two words "cream" and "off" to form two compound words or phrases?

Example "peanut" - - - - - - "fly" would be the answer butter

Technically it fits, but neither are very commonly used so was more than likely going to be something more known.

I think that's probably the one.
It's another word for hair conditioner.
We usually see it spelt as creme rinse though.
