I make it 2 votes to come, with two possible winners. Interesting.

On a recount, just BBM to vote, with the possibility of a tie.

All votes now cast. I feared a low turnout because of the limited options offered by my selected word but, as usual, I was delighted and entertained by the variety and inventiveness showed by all players.

The votes were 1 each for paul #7 and chrise #9. 2 votes for peterm #3 and 4 each for aristophanes #17 and bigbadmarty2 # 24. Both excellent clues but my casting vote goes to BBM for his cleverly constructed:

Lead and potassium compound found to be lethal by many doctors (6)

The prize is an oldie but goodie (and very pre=PC) from Spike M

Yes, lead and potassium would be an alloy - a mixture rather than a compound. I don't think anyone would try to make it - the reactivity of potassium would make it unusable - but I suspect that it would be one of the "unmakeable alloys", as the contrast in densities would result in the metals separating before solidifying.
Conclusive evidence of Earth having been visited by space aliens would be to find an artefact made of, for example, aluminium/lead alloy, as this could only be made in zero-gravity (free-fall) conditions. Some experiments on the space station have been performed to prepare alloys of this sort.]

Congratulations, bigbad, and thanks, nemo. Quite the clip, about as PC as the effeminate robot servant in Woody Allen's "Sleeper". Thanks also to ginge, dorrien, mattrom, and bigbad for the votes- an honor.
