A delightful puzzle indeed which, I too, have solved in record time (for me). I spent rather too long grid staring for the 7th protagonist until I realised it was hiding in plain sight and I needn’t have been quite so eagle eyed!

I wonder what proportion of the crosswords has this genus as the end game theme? In my early Listener career, it seems pretty high.

Easy but very pleasant. I quite like this easy hard easy hard routine we seem to be in. Nice to knock this one off in a couple of hours after the large amount of effort needed for last week. And after a good break I’ll be ready for another serious challenge next week.

Glad of an easier one this week as started it in the wilds (literally) of Scotland on Friday and despite the best efforts of Traffic Scotland and sundry ferry operators managed to make it back to the third world to complete it today.

What an excellent puzzle! So much content so neatly interwoven, especially the 5 letter changes which had me stumped for several minutes as I was looking for something in a different format.

The was indeed an excellent puzzle - that is to say that I could complete it! Minor quibble is that I couldn't find 28 down in any dictionary.

In view of the interest in names in earlier posts could i challenge anyone to identify the origin of my pseudonym? A clue is that it is connected with my home town whose team who had an excellent away win while I was completing Hedge-sparrow's enjoyable puzzle.
