I have done the bottom half.
Top half seems a little difficult.

The question is: does 1A get anagrammed?

Yes it does....I get a hyphenated word

The quote is from Season 21.
The three words are very easy to find.
The last eight words mean Just in time, the title.

13a, 14a, 9d, 12d are unusual words for me.

That was some workout.

Now Azed and Listener. But Listener seems very hard.

I didn't notice the last eight words of the quote. You're right. I thought it might be a description of DW her(him-)self!

Busy yesterday later on, so resuming this morning.
Puzzled. Haven't entered a thing in the grid yet before rubbing it out again.

e.g. 3d has one anagram, doesn't it? The German one? I've checked other unlikely words in Chambers, but can't find any alternative.

If so, 10ac cannot fit with it, because there is no I in the word. It has to fit with E only.

I notice the grid's symmetry. Can we move words around the grid?

Jazzlover, we're not making anagrams from the Downs. 3 D ends up a totally different word because of the changes to all the Across answers. I didn't move any words around the grid.

Oh, no wonder I've been going round in circles for ages.
So we can just fit any words we like?

No idea of where we're headed. Not a Whovian, and can find no quotations from season 21 without prompting words.
