Can anyone help me with Saturday's crossword? I am stuck on 24 down clue is Five -1 to Germany - that shows style 4 letters -v-n I have assumed that 26ac is obviation

Mattrom is correct - answer is vein
v = five
ein = 1 in German
vein = style

Can't remember what 26a was but if you write the clue I might be able to remember !

Thanks for that. Obviation is not correct for 26 across I think now operation but can't see why. The clue is Concealing relationship start running. O-e-a-i-n.
