Elle, if firefox gives you trouble you could try the Pale Moon browser, you can import your firefox profile into it (keeps all of your bookmarks and preferences, except for saved passwords).
nearly all of firefox add-ons will also work - not adbloc plus but adbloc latitude works just as well.
i've been a fan of firefox for years but switched to pale moon a week or two ago and have had no probs at all.

Hi, Trevor!
It is good to hear that you have your 'r' back!
Thank you, I will bear the Pale Moon browser in mind if I have further problems.
Normally, I use Internet Explorer on my desk top, and Google Chrome on my Hudl, with no problems with either.
I just ran into trouble with Adblock Plus suddenly failing to function on my Hudl. I eventually reinstalled it, though, and all is well now!

elle, I'm new to this thread, and new to having a hudl2. Your mention of AdBlock Plus is of interest to me. Presumably, it does what it says on the tin, but are there any cons?

Hello, Steve.
I've found Adblock Plus very useful, as I cannot cope with the moving adverts, as they tend to give me migraine (any flashing light unfortunately has that effect on me)
I've used Adblock Plus for the eleven months that I have had the Hudl 2, and have had no problems with it until this week, when I had to reinstall it, as it had ceased to work (no idea why?)
It's functioning okay again now though!
So no, I can't think of any cons!

Thanks elle, that's a good enough recommendation to get it.

P.S.
There are specific versions for different browsers, so make sure you download the correct one.
And there is a FREE version - so don't pay anything!
Good luck with it!

For Rusty, and anyone else who feels the Times crossword is a bit London-centric, here is a clue from today's paper -

Borders lifted from part of Glasgow for lorry (5)
