Hello, Elle!
My visitors have just left.
Now, Lee Hays was a Weaver, you know that?
I did not know him and Pete Seeger wrote If I Had a Hammer.
I have a selection of clothes to pick from tomorrow.
The graduation is in Caird Hall.
I think there is a table booked at a Mexican restaurant, too.
If they have no bacon rolls I am walking out!
Miss La Bamba is in charge of me!
That will be a hoot!

Chris, "if I had a hammer " was a number 10 hit for Peter, Paul and Mary in 1962 and then went to number three a year later when recorded by Trini Lopez.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I knew that Lee Hays was a Weaver - I think he and Pete Seeger wrote the song "If I had a Hammer" whilst they were both together in The Weavers.
So what clothes have you to choose between for tomorrow? I should think a nice suit with your well-ironed (!) shirt and a matching tie?
I am sure you will look very smart - remembering your street cred!
What is Caird Hall? It sounds very imposing?
Is it like the London equivalent of the Albert Hall?
I am surprised that your family has managed to get you to agree to go to a Mexican restaurant? You don't like spicy food!
(I hate to break it to you but I doubt you will get a bacon roll....)

P.S. Sorry....typo (yes , another senior moment - don't dare say anything!)
I meant "Is it like the Dundee equivalent of the London Albert Hall?"

Hello, Elle!
You are getting away ahead of yourself now!
I do not own a suit. I have not decided what to wear, yet.
I ironed shirts, though. I may or may not look smart but I shall be different. My shoes will match, though.
And I am not sure about the restaurant. I may go. May not.
Caird Hall is a large hall down town.
Donated to the city by Sir James Caird who owned jute mills in town.
It is a long time since I was there. That was to see Runrig.
So, I am looking forward to it. A long, long, time since I was in town!

Hi, Rusty!
It sounds as though it will be a lovely grand occasion which I am sure you will all enjoy!
And the Hall sounds impressive! Is the town far from where you live?
But you really should go to the restaurant with your family, even if the food is not particularly to your taste (I am sure that there will something to eat that you will like - I am sorry that I joked about it!)
The girls - and especially Miss Orlando - will be so disappointed if you do not stay to eat with them on such a special occasion.
What is "Runrig"?

Elle, they are perfectly fine whether I go or not.
Miss Orlando will not be disappointed.
I am attending her graduation.
That is important to us, not eating.
Runrig were/are a Gaelic rock band, though some songs were in English. Their version of Loch Lomond is super.
One of the band, Pete Wishart, is now an MP at Westminister.
