Hello, Rosalind,
As Malone has kindly posted, the answer to 2 down was "ounce". I forget the clue, but the definition was " large cat"!
Which we discussed yesterday morning!

Hello, Elle!
That was nice seeing your son and granddaughter!
Yes, the young ones soon grow up!
I have several young madams in my family!
Would not have it any other way!
My son has just left.
Are you vetting a school tomorrow?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, we are looking at another school tomorrow afternoon.
I cannot remember where this one is - I think it is a short drive away from my daughter's house.
Unfortunately, so far , only one school has been within walking distance - and that was the one that we really disliked! ( the one with the completely disinterested headmaster - didn't seem to like his school, the kids, or the parents / grandparents whom he was showing around!)
So much for a healthy walk to school to start off the young one's day, eh?
Anyway, at least I shan't have to catch a train in the rush hour tomorrow! The dog can have a more leisurely walk at her normal time!
Any bacon rolls planned for tomorrow?

Hello, Elle!
Hope this is a good school!
Yes, I am going out with two granddaughters today.
Don't know where, don't know when! (is that a line from a song? Vera Lynn?)
I saw a very nice touch from one of my favourite golfers yesterday. Lexi Thompson had finished her round and was signing autographs for her young fans, and she gave a little girl a pair of her golf shoes (pretty pink, they were!).
Oh, I know her sponsor paid for them, but it was a nice touch.
The little girl will carry that memory for a long time.
Seems to be colder today!

Hi rusty
You must have turned on just a little late - just before she gave the girl in pink some pink shoes, she had given a girl in white and blue a pair of white and blue shoes - the commentators questioned where she was carrying them!

Good PR though, I agree.

Morning, Rusty!
Brrr! It is much colder here, too, and according to the BBC forecast will continue growing colder as the day progresses. - it apparently will only be 2C by 5 am tomorrow!
Yes, those words are from a Vera Lynn song - it took me a few minutes to place them ( I had to sing it !) ...but it's "We'll Meet Again".
This week seems to have flown by..... I can't believe it's Friday already! - and I never found the time to watch any of the ATP tennis . I wonder how Roger is doing? and your bete noire, Novak Djokovic? I may have to resort to consulting Google!
Where are you and the girls going, today? ( Be brave, don't sit in a dark corner!)

Morning Everyone,

What's your weather like?

It's blowing a hoolie here ! wind up to 60mph/65 in gusts and Corsica due for 80mph in the night - rain coming from all sorts of directions ; I had intended to walk down to the village centre but will abstain !

It's still mild yet, but due to change in the night

Hello Chris!
I have finished reading "Life of Pi".........ummmmmm...........
What to say?
It isn't really another "Engleby" situation, is it, because that was a straightforward choice ........of believing Engleby's version or.......not.
Okay, we have a choice here in "Life of Pi" but it's an allegory........... that's totally different.
What to think?
I think for me the jury is still out.....I'm not sure.....
Did you come to any (personal) conclusion?

Chris, I half caught the bit with the blue and white shoes but I had visitors in and only had a glimpse!
I saw her last year after winning a tournament when she, her caddy, and one or two of her family, all jumped into Poppie's Pond, fully clothed! All good clean fun!

Cold, but not windy here, Pigale. Dry too as yet.
Cold and dry are definitely more tolerable (to me) though than warm and wet!
