Hello, Elle!
My family and friends across the Irish Sea have snow.
Maybe heading this way?
Our gritters are out!
It is quite cold here.
I meant to say yesterday, that one of the ospreys from Loch Arkaig has been found dead in Southern Spain.
They think it flew into a power line, or landed on a faulty one.
It hatched in 2017.

Hi, Rusty!
I hope that you do not have snow!
It is not the snow itself that is the problem, but the icy aftermath!
Our pavements and roads were slippy enough this morning with the freezing damp.
I may postpone my early walk till later in the day tomorrow , if the conditions look bad.
Be careful in the morning, when you go out for your paper.
What a shame about the young osprey!
Where is Loch Arkaig?
I hope that "our" ospreys are doing well.

Good morning, Elle!
We have snow this morning!
A thin layer just, and it is cold out!
Not much walking for me, I have to drive this morning.
Loch Arkaig is due North of Fort William and Ben Nevis.
I was surprised to learn the bird was in Southern Spain, and not Africa.
This is quite interesting.

Good morning, Rusty!
No snow here.....!
The warning of 'heavy' snow was thankfully wildly inaccurate (leastways, it hasn't arrived yet!)
However, I am still at home.... it is very frosty and icy out, so I have decided to forego the early morning walk, and just go out midday.
My husband has a dental appointment at 1pm., so he will drop me, and dog, off at the park en route.
Thank you for the video clip! That has quite made my day!
I have since been reading up about Serena's defeat ......
Some reports are saying that it was because she "rolled her ankle" in the last set?
Did you see that happen?
But hey, she was already losing two sets to one at that stage.......
I don't think one can detract from Karolina Pliskova's victory?
I, for one, am highly delighted!
I just need Novak to beat Nishikori now.......
What are you up to today?

Hello, Elle!
Just a light covering of snow here.
Traffic moving fairly normally.
I only saw the clip I posted about Serena.
Her match was in the middle of our night!
I am heading out to visit my optometrist for my annual check up.
Novak's match has just begun.
He has just won the first game in the first set, on serve.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah yes, I had forgotten that you are going to the opticians.
Is it far to drive?
It seems very strange for me to be indoors at this time of day!
I am consequently well ahead of all my morning tasks.
Two machine loads of washing dealt with already!
I have a number of letters to write...so those will be next on my agenda.
I am sure we have not heard the last of Serena's "downfall"......I think that might be a pun!

Jigjag, I am sorry....I missed seeing your post....
I have rescued that particular crossword from my recycling box to reread the clue....
I do not think that I associated the "it " with either sex appeal or information technology....
"it" was just there in its own right....

Hi, Rusty!
I hope you got on all right at the opticians?
I am about to disappear for a couple of hours......belated walking the(patiently waiting) dog!
Catch up with you later....

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I was pleased with the outcome of my eyes exam.
The optometrist took quite a time to do it all.
The good news I was hoping for, was, there is no change in my mild macular degeneration from last year.
He had suggested I add kale to my diet, and I have .
So hopefully the kale is helping.
Other than that, distance vision is very good, and a slight adjustment to reading specs prescription, (the new specs will enable me to read, and are also for using with my laptop, too) and that's me!
No paper today, as I knew my vision would be blurry for a while with the eye drops.
Done the puzzle online.
Much better doing it on paper, though!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Home again now...I had an enjoyable walk.
Mind you, I was well wrapped up against the elements!
That is good new about your eyesight. I am glad that all is going well.
Yes, I believe that kale is beneficial in very many ways - it is most surprising what a list of attributes it has!
I think the only drawback to eating (a lot of ) it, is if one is on anticoagulants, or if one has kidney damage.
(But don't ask me to explain why, as I don't know!)
I'd reported "Playingcards" posts - plus his one word comments on other threads - earlier this morning.
Norah said that no way did he have permission to post !
So not only was he a nuisance, but no stickler for the truth , either!
I hear that Nishikori retired from the match with Novak?
Do you know why that was?
