Hi, Rusty!
Speaking of Bing......
I came across two identical copies of a biography of him, when I was "sorting" my books.
One had belonged to my father...and the other, of course, was mine!
I bequeathed one copy to the church!
We played Christmas carols sung by Bing at my Dad's funeral (fourteen years ago now)
"O Holy Night" and "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
It was what he had wanted.
I hope you can "find" your programme elsewhere!

Good morning, Elle!
Very frosty here!
I think this could be a busy day for many folk.
Safe journey to all those travelling home!
There are lots of videos of Bing on YouTube.
I am heading out to ASDA soon to get my paper etc.
I suspect it may be busy!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is a dry day here, and a bit foggy......but the sun is trying hard to show his face.
I am just home from my walk with a very muddy dog after all yesterday's rain.
Did you get your paper...was Asda busy?
I expect the shops will be packed with lots of last minute shoppers.
You are visiting your daughter-in-law and Miss O'Hara this morning, aren't you?
I hope I am in time to catch you and say have a good time with them!

Hello, Elle!
Great day here, but quite cold. Minus 2 outside.
Slippy roads and pavements!
I was at ASDA before 8.00 and it was a wee bit busier than normal.
I am just home from visiting and the roads are quite busy.
Next up is a a visit from my granddaughter.

Hi, Rusty!
Minus 2 is indeed cold!
It is 4C here, so not too bad.
And the sun has finally put his hat on and come out to play!
We have had two sets of visitors already........
(I had hoovered this time......and combed my hair!)
It is nice to see everyone, but we have now run out of mince pies....!
What time is Miss ATW coming?

Hello Elle

News of your victory has reached North Wales but has been met with disappointment in the village of Mynydd Isa (pop 5837). The controversial mayor, Ivor Chambers, addressed a group of locals in the car-park of the Griffin Inn.

"It is certainly a setback in our fight for city status, but who is she who has single-handedly taken on the might of National Newspapers and Dictionaries and triumphed? What a lady! The only clue to her identity is this:

In France she won Town v City debate (4)

"I should like to wish all solvers, especially those on the PCT a very merry Christmas" proclaimed the mayor, as the puzzled villagers followed him into the pub to drown their sorrows.

Good afternoon, Elle!
Still a great day here.
Still freezing, though.
Miss ATW has been and gone!
She liked my Vivaldi music playing!
And I was at my son's house earlier!
My youngest son still to visit but not sure when.
So, I'll tackle the puzzle now and see how I get on!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, the sun stayed with us all day, although it is beginning to go dark now.
Your younger son will perhaps be with you as I write this.....
Is it he who has to work tomorrow? or is that your other son?
We haven't seen ours.....but I expect he will phone in the morning.
We shall be here until about 11am (after taking out the dog, early, of course, as usual) before we go over to our daughter's for the remainder of the day.
YB has been reminding me that Father Christmas is coming tonight!!!!

Good evening, Elle!
Quite cold up here. Minus 1 and very frosty.
My son has gone home.
My oldest son works tomorrow.
YB is correct!
Father Christmas is on his way!
Should be lots of happy children in the morning!

Hi, Rusty!
You have had a good day with all your family around you!
Now.....I think the plan is to put out a mince pie and drink for Father Christmas.....and carrots for the reindeer!
BB has also written Santa a note!
Having very young children about makes it an extra special occasion, I think!
There is magic in the air........
Did you finish your puzzle?
I am stuck on three clues.....
7d: Dominus / ?O?I?C?M
I have decided upon "dominus" purely from the crossers....it may not be correct?
13d: S?A?E?A?K
No ideas here?
19a: I have "electric" = exciting (definition )
But cannot fully parse it.
I shall go make a coffee - but I think my brain is in meltdown......
