Hello, Elle,
Here is the SPOTY result!
3, Nick Skelton.
2, Alistair Brownlee.
1, Andrew Murray!
It was quite a good programme.
Good to see all the sports stars there!
Hope your headache is on the mend.
They are forecasting fog for you tomorrow, too.

Hi, Rusty!
I feel much better now, thank you - I don't know what triggered the migraine......usually it is caused by flickering lights/ sunlight or similar , but on this occasion I was just sitting reading, when the words became "fuzzy."
Unusual.
The meds work well though.
I thought Andy would win!
Is this the second or the third time that he has won?
And I am pleased about Alistair Brownlee coming second.
I don't know much about Nick Skelton?
Didn't he get a Gold medal in the 2012 Olympics in Showjumping?
Not too sure about that .....
I have been talking to my cousin.......she and her family are going away to Wales for Christmas this year.
More fog? Oh dear......

Hello, Elle!
That is good about your headache.
Very rarely I get a "visual" migraine.
There is a name for it, but I have lost it.
It lasts about twenty minutes.
Andy has won SPOTY three times now.
His wife voted for Nick Skelton.
I know Nick rides horses but I do not know what he has won.
Brailsford and Sutton go before the MP's committee tomorrow.
I must find out when it is, so I can watch on television.
There will be wriggling, I think.
Hope the MP's do their homework, and grill them properly!

Hi, Rusty!
I think you might mean an ocular migraine?
This is often called migraine with "aura", which is what I get.
One gets flashing or shimmering lights, zigzagging lines or stars.
One can get blind spots, too.
I will look at a page and can only see some of the words, or look at a person 's face, for instance , and only see a part of it.
Ocular migraine can occur with or without accompanying head pain.
Not everyone suffering from migraine gets the earlier "aura".
My (elder) daughter doesn't get it with her migraine attacks.
I wonder why Andy's wife voted for Nick Skelton and not for Andy himself?

Hello, Elle,
Yes, I think that is what the optometrist called it.
I get a "zigzag circle".
But I do not get headache, only the "aura".
Not happened for months, now.
I do not know why Kim voted for Skelton, but Andy said she shall regret it at Christmas!
He is known to jest!
Hope you get on fine with the shopping with your daughter tomorrow!

At the age of 58, Nick Skelton won a gold medal for show jumping at the Rio Olympics. Much though I dislike all sport except some martial arts, I did watch some of this final and I thought he did brilliantly. He is the second oldest person ever to win a gold medal, I believe.

Glad your migraine got sorted quickly, elle

Good morning, Rusty!
Only a slight fog this morning whilst I was out walking.
Certainly an improvement on the weekend!
But I do hope your weather is better than this?
Have you been out yet for your paper?
My daughter will arrive shortly so I must away now to get changed - I don't think she will want me in "dog- walking gear"!
We both have shopping lists.......so I hope we can get everything that we want/ need.
I should be back about tea-time......
Catch up with you later!

Hello, Ros!
Thank you!
Yes, if i take my medication at the first sign of a visual disturbance , the migraine is usually arrested in time.
I rarely get a bad headache, just temporary problems with my vision.
I didn't know that Nick Skelton was 58 when he won his Gold medal! Good for him!.

PS In the long ago days when I rode horses (and spent nearly 3 months in hospital as a result of un-riding one!) I fell off every time I tried jumping, so gave up (wisely, I think).

Good afternoon, Elle!
Hope your shopping trip went well!
Been a fine day here but breezy.
We have gales forecast for tomorrow!
But it is mild!
My vote for Dame Sarah did not help much.
She came second last in the voting!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, thank you, both I and my daughter had a very successful shopping day !
All ticked off on the list!
But goodness, am I tired!
I haven't been home very long.......and I went out about 10.30am.
And that on top of an hour and a half in the park with the dog!
I collapsed onto the sofa when I got home!
I am surprised that Dame Sarah didn't rank higher?
But then I don't know how many contenders there were for the title?
