Hey, Rusty!
Oh good, I shall watch that documentary tomorrow!
I shall look forward to it.
You have indeed had a nice evening.......first your son coming, then Miss L-B.
Do you remember - oh, ages ago now - my recommending that you read Kate Adie's autobiography, "The Kindness of Strangers"?
I thought you would enjoy it?
It is well written and very amusing and entertaining.
I wonder, did you ever did get around to reading it?
What has brought it and Kate Adie, to mind, is a letter I have just received from an old friend.
He is a retired church minister who now lives in Dorchester......and he recently met Miss Adie.
Since her days as a BBC war correspondent, she has retired to Dorset and is now somewhat of a local celebrity.
She is the President of the Dorset Archive Trust, and early this year hosted a reception to raise money for the Trust.
She gave an entertaining and knowledgeable talk, explaining the social background of old and well known fairy stories and nursery rhymes.
I should have liked to have listened to that!
