Hi, Rusty!
I am back home again!
We had a lovely time!
The restaurant was very tastefully decorated for Christmas, the staff was very courteous and friendly as always - and the food was absolutely delicious!
A very enjoyable night out!
The restaurant isn't far as the crow flies, but probably about two miles to walk there.
Fine during the daytime in appropriate footwear!
But I prefer going by car when I am "dressed up"!
And anyway........it started to rain just before we left home!
Scotland may have had its sunniest November since records began...but I read that Dundee is having one of its iciest winters ever!
Would you agree with that?

Hello, Elle!
Glad you had a good time in the restaurant.
Was it busy with nights-out?
Yes, going by car is a good idea.
I have not heard that about Dundee icy winters?
It seems a fairly ordinary winter to me.
We have had a bit of frost but nothing exceptional.
Roads a wee bitty slippy at times.
Traffic and buses seemed to run normally.
So, no, I would not agree with that story.

Hey, Rusty!
Yes, it was very busy...and we were lucky that we went fairly early, as we hadn't booked a table.
But we are quite well known there, so it wasn't a problem.
And there weren't any "parties" as such - just what appeared to be groups of family and friends , so it wasn't a noisy environment.
Just very pleasant!
I was looking up what you'd said about Scotland having had its sunniest November since records began, when I came across the bit about Dundee's iciest winter........
https://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/fp/icy-november-one-dundees-coldest-ever1/
But I'm glad for your sake if it isn't true!
Who wants a record like that!
Weekend has come round again......
Do you have anything nice planned?

Hello, Elle,
I am with you now.
Yes, it has been fairly cold, I suppose, but I was thinking of "ice" everywhere!
Frosty yes, but I can remember much colder Novembers.
That is from our local evening paper which is pretty dreadful as newspapers go.
I will not buy it.
And I have no idea who the James Hutton Institute are.
The worst Winter here was in 1947 and the snow did not come until March.
And I think 1963 was brutal too.
That appears to be a nice restaurant you were at.
No plans for the weekend, for me.

Hi, Rusty!
We haven't got anything much planned for the weekend either.
We have probably had enough excitement for now
It was nice to eat out though.
It's funny how much nicer food tastes when one hasn't had to prepare it one's self!
I might make a start on writing my Christmas cards over the weekend.
Next week is busyish, so I should utilise the free time whilst I have it!
Tomorrow morning is said to be foggy and cold..... I hope not!

Good morning, Elle!
I have not been out yet, but it won't be warm!
Yes, it is nice to have others do the cooking.
When are you field testing the wellies?
I am wondering if there is any skiing on TV.
i watched the golf last night.
Was good!
I am off to the shop for my paper now.
Wearing a jacket in case of "icy" weather!

Good morning, Rusty
Surprisingly, we have a lovely day here!
No sign of the fog - or the cold - with which we were threatened!
It was 4C earlier and promises to hit a high of 7C at some stage!
What was it like with you when you went for your paper?
My wellies? Well, I suppose I should "test them out", yes.......
I only usually wear them if it is actually raining heavily, or the ground is exceptionally poggy as an aftermath.
Otherwise when walking the dog, I wear my Nubucks - very stalwart and more comfortable to walk in.
Maybe one day this next week I shall try them.....?
Have you found any skiing to watch?
i am just imbibing a coffee and printing off my crosswords!

Hello, Elle!
It was foggy here for a while but clear now.
I have not looked for skiing.
Just have the wireless on.
I'm trying to fix my electric fire just now.
Priorities!

Hi, Rusty!
You electric fire is quite new, isn't it?
I hope there isn't a major problem?
I guess weekend isn't the time to be calling in the repair- men!
Have you managed to sort it out?
I have done the Jumbo GK but am struggling with the Times 15 x 15 today.
I'm getting some answers but am slow on the parsing!
It is most unsatisfactory!

Hello, Elle!
No, the fire effect is not coming on and I wonder if it needs a bulb.
Not important.
I do not use it, only for the "effect".
I have finished Times crossword.
One parse to get at 6a.
Something I am not seeing!
So, I am watching a football game just now.
The golf will be on later!
I like Saturdays!
