You are correct as usual.

Hi Joker,
Yet again I'm relying on my older Chambers, which gives AUBRIETIA and doesn't mention Aubrieta. When did the spelling change, I wonder?

I've just looked in my Chambers and it shows only Aubrietia

The mighty Encyc. Brit. only shows Aubrietia (but it is only a mid fifties edition.)

I quote the exact entry as given in my Chambers, which was published in Edinburgh, prior to it being moved south of the border.
This may account for a fall in standards !!
"aubrieta,aubrietia or(popularly)aubretia..."

Yes Jazzgirl you are almost infallible !

My spellchecker gives both spellings.
I did not realise it belonged to the cabbage family. Much prettier and smells much nicer. You learn something new on this forum everyday.
