Could anybody please tell me the answer to 29 across, second hand , 3 words, 5, 2, 4

Hail sounds good but the A is in the wrong place.

The crossing clue gives i as the 3rd letter, so spelling needs to be checked on 33a.:)

I had thought of reach me down but it was a phrase I didn't know, hand me down yes, but reach me down?
For 33 across, blood poisoning, I have septacaemia, but that leaves the a in the wrong place. It must be septicaemia I suppose. I don't have a dictionary to hand.

septicaemia is correct.
"Reach me down" is an alternative to "hand me down"

I'd never heard the term 'reach me down' either! I wonder if it's a north/south thing.
