I've finished but for the unmentionables and 1ac - which means of course, that I don't know what to do with them, anyway.

I thought that the 19ac meant the first letter, but obviously it doesn't

I think 26 WINE is 1 DRUNK after removal of 19 CORK I can't figure out 11a and 21a and 1d ??

They are the ones we have to find. I've got them now but for 17ac and 21ac. I'm not going to write the answers in at this stage, Dizoz

I'm still stuck on a few (1D, 24D and 27D predominantly), but the five special words stand out. One would appear to be Liebfraumilch, with L as the cork removed, but I can't work out to to make it drunk.

I don't think L is the cork. I think it might be parts of cork.

I've finished now except for 17 ac.

You're right about 11ac

Cork = C or K. Port = P or T.

Re 19ac - Interpret it as C or K. So you lose the C from your 11ac.
You must have all the crossers for 11ac - drunk obviously means to reorder the letters - look at the order of the letters you have plus the missing ones and the required new order should become clear.

17ac - Can anyone help with just a clue for Hell's Angel? Googling gives ne either HAMC or Mother Theresa

hell's angel = biker; just got 17a it has taken me way longer than the rest of the puzzle
