Found the trick to the "Puzzle not available yet" problem.

Just add any number or letter after "answers= " in the URL.
Seems anything will do, at least for the current puzzle.
I'll experiment with earlier ones.

The Java problem is still a mystery, & I'm up-to-date.

What a puzzle! Of course it helps if you take seriously a certain phrase in one clue.............

Can anyone help with 5D?
I can only think of one word with the crossing letters I've got, but I can't make sense of the word play.

Thanks all for help in getting this one. Problems with Java, no crossword showing, clicked for print version anyway added character to www address and hey presto, able to print off.

I think I've changed the correct letter to find the extra one after transformation. Am I still looking for the pre-transformation solution to go with it in the vertical columns? If so I might just give in now.
